Tracks will be lowered beneath the Smithfield Street Bridge in the City of Pittsburgh. All work will be completed within CSXT right-of-way, and will have little or no impact on utilities attached to the bridge or the adjacent property owners, including the Smithfield Street Bridge, Monongahela River, or the adjacent historic district.

CSX Transportation is soliciting bids for assistance in lowering two tracks using undercutting operations beneath the Smithfield Street Bridge in the City of Pittsburgh, PA. Work to be contracted includes: excavation, soil sedimentation and erosion control, ditch cleaning, site restoration, and track construction support.
All those who attend the Pre-Bid meeting must be properly attired with all necessary protective equipment including hard hat, safety glasses with side shields, highly reflect safety vests, laced work boots at least 6” high with a safety toe, and hearing protection. No loose jewelry is to be worn including rings may be worn while on Railroad property. No exceptions to these requirements will be allowed.
The Pre-Bid Meeting will be held Wednesday, May 25th at 1:00 PM in at the Sheraton Station Square in the Waterfront Room located at 300 W Station Square Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15219.
