Letter * I am writing today to express my support for the National Gateway project. I want to reduce congestion on our nation's crowded highways, reduce greenhouse emissions, improve air quality and increase our nation's ability to compete in the global economy. The National Gateway will serve all of these goals by preparing three major rail corridors for double-stack clearance, improving the flow of rail traffic. A strong, efficient freight transportation system is vital to all of these efforts, to our economy and to ensure that goods I use every day are brought to market in a cost-effective and environmentally friendly way. Our already strained railways must be upgraded to handle the projected increases in freight shipping and relieve congestion on our highways. Please help make this important project a reality. As your concerned constituent, I am counting on you to make my voice heard in support of the National Gateway.
